Orby Photo
Description
The current design of Orby Photo was created after seeing Doug Bowman's photo gallery. I organize all of my photos using Apple's iPhoto program, export the images using the Photon plugin to a modified Wordpress install, and display everything using a theme I created.
The theme I created makes use of additions I made to Wordpress's MySQL tables, as well as a number of either modified or new functions.
CSS Highlights
- Remote rollovers.
- Mixture of dynamic and static width views, depending on type of page being shown.
Programming Highlights
- Uses PHP's exif extension and GD library of image functions.
- Expanded upon many Wordpress functions.
- Created a number of new functions to allow features not supported by Wordpress.
- Made modifications to Wordpress's MySQL tables and updated queries to take advantage of the new columns.
Technologies Used
- CSS
- MySQL
- PHP
- XHTML
Links
- CSS: main styling, undohtml.css, IE-specific styling
- Page types: index view, album view, individual photo view
